‘Relief’ as bitcoin roars back to life

Bitcoin, the top-ranked cryptocurrency, soared eight per cent in 24 hours after being stuck in a bear run for the better part of a month.Cryptocurrency has been in a rut for most of 2022, but it plunged to new lows for the year earlier this month, after a stable coin plummeted by 98 per cent in the space of just 24 hours – something which should have been impossible. The cryptocurrency community was left reeling when terra (UST), previously among the top 10 most valuable cryptocurrencies in the world, slumped below $US1 ($A1.42) earlier this month.Skittish investors pulled out and it left the entire cryptocurrency space in distress, with bitcoin and ethereum briefly reaching levels that hadn’t been seen since June last year.At one point, bitcoin was trading as low as US$25,400 (A$35,200) per token. However, on Tuesday morning the coin rallied and was trading at US$32,157 (A$44,000), the highest it has been in more than three weeks. Experts are “cautiously” optimistic that BTC can push b

US to urge tougher sanctions after North Korea fires likely ICBM

That's precisely what happened and so we feel it's now time to take action," the official said on condition of anonymity. The three early-morning ballistic missile launches came within an hour of each other, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement. This could have been North Korea's largest ICBM, the Hwasong-17, Kim Tae-hyo said later.- Response to Biden -The latest apparent test come just days after Biden left South Korea Sunday.During Biden's visit, Seoul and

Coalition has ‘long way to go’ before it can win back lost seats

Independent Member for Wentworth Allegra Spender has agreed with outgoing Wentworth MP Dave Sharma's assessment that the Liberal Party will never form government if it shifts to the right. It comes as Mr Sharma has blamed his election loss on voters' "dislike" of Scott Morrison and warned the Liberal Party should "move back to the centre" if it wants to return to power. "I think it's probably right," Ms Spender told Sky News Australia. Ms Spender pointed to the fact there are several members on the crossbench who are in "typical Liberal seats" which won't be won back by the Coalition unless it moves towards the centre. "Those communities are saying we want strong action on some issues which the government failed to take action on," she said. "If the Coalition continues to shift to the right the chances of getting those seats back are very very low – then what is the Liberals' path or the Coalition's path to

‘Ridiculous’: Fury over new Coke bottles

The British arm of the global beverage company announced it has started rolling out new versions of its iconic plastic bottles in an attempt to keep the lids out of landfill. While caps are typically made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) – both of which are in high demand for recycling – many consumers still remove the lid when recycling. The new “attached cap” design is supposed to make it easier to recycle the whole package at once while also preventing the common recycling mistake.Plastic bottles of Coke, Coke Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Dr Pepper will all feature the new lids by early 2024, the company said. Johnny Depp’s co-stars’ surprise admissions

Who are you meeting with?”’Another time, “I had a scratch on my back that once got him very, very angry because he insisted it came from me having sex with a person who wasn’t him,” she said in the deposition, recorded in 2019 and played for jurors in the Virginia trial on Thursday.Meanwhile, D
