Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers were called on board the flight, prior to departure on Saturday morning following reports a man was allegedly being disruptive. In one video shared on social media, police can be heard asking him to leave the flight.Initially he refuses to leave his seat and tells officers: “I’m not going anywhere, I’ve got work in f***ing six hours down on the Gold Coast.”An officer then goes to unbuckle his seat, which agitates the man while he is escorted off the flight. “Get off me. I will walk,” the passenger can be heard saying, as he is marched down the aisle by police. A spokeswoman from Jetstar said their crew requested police assistance after they reported a passenger allegedly “becoming increasingly disruptive and verbally abusive towards other customers”. “The safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority and we have zero tolerance for this type of behaviour,” she said. The AFP confirmed the passenger had been charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft, contrary to section 22 of the Crimes (Aviation) Act 1991. “As this matter is now before the courts it would not be appropriate to comment further,” a AFP spokeswoman said in a statement.
