Sydney to experience unseasonable heatwave over the coming days

The Bureau of Meteorology is warning the New South Wales South Coast will be hit by a heatwave over the coming days. Yesterday Sydney experienced its warmest day in the past six months as unseasonable heat arrived much earlier than expected. Forecasts predict Sydney’s temperatures will top over 30 degrees until Thursday, 10 degrees above average. The heatwave is so extreme that firefighters have been forced to stop hazard-reduction burns around the outskirts of Sydney. With 42,000 runners registered to take part in the Sydney Marathon on Sunday, authorities are warning of severe heat to linger throughout the day.
