Viewers turn on MAFS groom: ‘Hero to zero’

Dan Hunjas, 42, was considered one of the stand-up males in the Nine experiment this year, and up until last night, was only ever seen doting over his ‘wife’ Sandy Jawanda, 36.After an awkward commitment ceremony Sunday, in which Sandy expressed concerns Dan was “disappearing” for 6-7 hours a day, the pair went on to have sex for the first time later that evening. But the physical encounter seemingly didn’t help them fix their stalling relations, with Dan yet again disappearing for half the day.“I feel like we slept together and then [he] kinda treated me like I don’t exist,” Sandy said in a piece to camera on Monday’s episode.Upon his eventual return to their Sydney apartment, the marketing tycoon appeared to have a rapid change of heart, failing to see why Sandy was upset that he disappeared all day.He also claimed the duo weren’t compatible due to his love of fitness, which he said Sandy did not share. “I’m a very active man. I’m climbing mountains, paddling in rivers, swimming in waterfalls,” he stressed. “But you’re not an active person and you don’t wanna be and I’m not feeling that energy connection — and energy is so important to me.“I’m out being very active and you’re watching TV.”The pair had a frosty argument, with Dan accusing a defeated Sandy of “talking in circles”.Viewers were surprised by the different side to Dan, taking to social media to lament his behaviour:While his attitude change is surprising, Dan and Sandy’s doomed relationship was highlighted weeks ago.Just one day after his wedding aired in late January, the father-of-one was spotted kissing a Gold Coast nurse who attended his TV nuptials.Samantha Symes shared a loved-up photo of the pair on her Instagram stories after a date night at Sydney’s Star Casino. It’s understood Dan – who drives a Porsche 911 – has since been served legal papers by Nine after spoiling the storyline by going public with his new flame. The successful entrepreneur is semi-retired and has a 16-year-old daughter.
