Seven people have been killed after a fire broke out inside a shopping mall in the South Korean city of Daejeon with six of the victims confirmed as mall employees. The blaze began in the basement before spreading to the mall's loading dock. About a hundred people, including employees and customers, were evacuated to a nearby hotel – and more than 500 firefighters and 90 vehicles were called in to extinguish the inferno. An investigation into the fire is underway, however eyewitness reports linked an explosion heard before the fire to the charging of an electric vehicle.
