AEC to hire 100,000 for election day

The Australian Electoral Commission has become the nation’s largest employer advertising for more than 100,000 short-term positions for election day. It comes at a time when Australia's jobless rate is at its lowest since the 1970s. This federal election will be the most expensive in history and the pandemic is expected to add its own challenges. Staff hired on a one-day basis will manage 7,500 polling places nationwide when Australia goes to the polls on May 21. Via news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site https://www.news.com.au
