Rex Patrick: ‘Trying to buy votes’ is ‘political corruption’

Independent Senator Rex Patrick says both Anthony Albanese and Scott Morrison are both “targeting marginal seats” with infrastructure projects. “I hate the idea that politicians roll out, just before an election, and they announce public expenditure in particularly marginal seats,” he told Sky News Australia. Mr Patrick said major issues are being cast aside, including healthcare, aged care, access to justice and climate change. “We ought to see a system in place where projects go through rigorous evaluations and then announcements are made in due course, not all stacked up.” Via news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site https://www.news.com.au
