‘Staggering’ number of non- Indigenous Australians wanted Aboriginal flag freed

Minister for Indigenous Australians Ken Wyatt says the number of non-Indigenous Australians who wrote to him about freeing the Aboriginal flag for public use was “staggering”. It comes after the Australian government finalised a historic $20 million deal with the flag’s creator, Harold Thomas. “There is within the public psyche a real strong place for the Aboriginal flag within all events and for use on all occasions,” Mr Wyatt told Sky News Australia. “And I was really buoyed by that level of support from fellow Australians for our people.” Via news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site https://www.news.com.au
