New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet says a new COVID rescue package to be announced later today could be the last relief payment given to businesses. It comes as the state government is set to announce a $1 billion COVID rescue package aiming to support businesses crippled by restrictions. The package – to be revealed today – includes four new emergency measures targeted at businesses burdened by Omicron lockdowns. Traders who have lost more than 40 per cent of their turnover will be able to claim up to 20 per cent of their payroll. "I'm incredibly confident here in our state that all our businesses will get through – and this will hopefully be probably the last time we need to provide that financial support," Mr Perrottet told Sky News Australia. “If there’s a need there, we will support it.” Via news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site https://www.news.com.au
