Moment man hit by ute doing burnouts

The altercation was filmed by Stan Sykes who had tried to tell the hoons to stop before he was struck. My Skyes, who is aged in his 60s, told Channel 7 he was thrown about three metres when the car hit him.“He put his foot down and accelerated,” he said.“His wheel went over my left foot and the momentum of the car threw me probably about three metres.”In jarring footage of the event, released by WA Police, Mr Skyes is heard screaming as he is thrown from the ground.As he shouts out in pain one of the men in the car yells: “F***, are you all right man?”.Mr Sykes said neighbours and strangers called for help and he was flown to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.However, luckily, he walked away with just scratches and a rolled ankle.The footage was released by police on Monday and shows a white Holden utility doing burnouts on the property north of Perth before it collides with Stan Sykes.The grandfather is worried that the next victim may not be so lucky. “It is an area that’s used by a lot of families and small children … one day something dreadful is going to happen,” he said.Police believe the driver of the vehicle checked on Mr Sykes but left the scene shortly after.Lancelin Police are investigating the incident that occurred around 7.45pm on Sunday on a property in Caraban, near Moore River north of Perth.
