First case of the Omicron variant detected in NT

Northern Territory Health Minister Natasha Fyles says a South African man who arrived on a repatriation flight on November 25 is the territory's first case of the Omicron variant. She said he tested positive to COVID-19 two days ago. “But the Territory community should be reassured, the gentleman went straight to Howard Springs, the Centre for National Resilience, he is in quarantine there,” Ms Fyles said. She said the quarantine facility is “broken up into different zones” so international repatriation flight passengers do not interact with local Northern Territorians within the building.
