Butting out triggers INCREDIBLE $2m lotto windfall

The man became WA’s latest multi-millionaire after scooping the top prize in Saturday’s lotto draw with a ticket he bought with money he saved from quitting smoking. The man in his 60’s, a regular lotto player, bought his ticket at the Hamilton Hill Newsagency.“I started playing with the money I saved when I quit smoking and all of my efforts have been realised – I could not be more thrilled,” he said. The ticket was part of five division one prizes from Saturday’s draw sold throughout the country. “I read the news on Sunday and realised the winning ticket was from the store I bought mine from,” the winner said. “There was a lot of double checking.” It comes as WA players gear up for one of the biggest lotto weeks of the year to date, with $100 million up for grabs thanks to this week’s OZ Lotto and Powerball draws. “OZ Lotto has jackpotted to $20 million, while Powerball is sitting at $80 million,” Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said. “Thursday’s $80 million Powerball draw is the equal biggest jackpot offered to players this year. “The last time we saw one of our games jackpot to these heights was in August and before that April and on both occasions the prize was won.” Via news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site https://www.news.com.au
