Melburnians enjoy first full day of freedoms after restrictions ease

Residents in Melbourne are enjoying their first full day of freedom after lockdown restrictions were eased last night. As of 6pm on Friday, non-essential retail stores were allowed to reopen with caps on hospitality venues also lifted. Residents are now allowed to have up to ten visitors in their homes. Gyms, theatres and cinemas also returned to business with masks now no longer required outdoors. Some stores stayed open until midnight to accommodate hundreds of eager shoppers and many couldn't wait for their chance to browse the aisles.
