Gladys Berejiklian grilled at ICAC over Daryl Maguire’s request for ‘private phone’

Former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has claimed former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire may have wanted her to obtain a private phone for “privacy reasons”. Ms Berejiklian has fronted ICAC for the second day, on Monday, to provide evidence. The former premier is being investigated into whether she breached the public's trust or turned a blind eye to any corrupt conduct by her ex-partner, Mr Maguire. Ms Berejiklian was grilled on whether she was concerned when Mr Maguire told her to “get a private phone” after informing the former premier he had been summoned by ICAC as a witness. “I had no inclination to think that it was because he had done anything wrong; it could have been for privacy reasons, but I was clearly not concerned because I didn't do any of those things,” she said.
