Fauci is an ‘A plus promoter and a D grade doctor’

Former President Donald Trump has hit out at Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci, accusing him of being a “bureaucrat” who is more adept at self-promotion than he is as a researcher. Mr Trump said he was not informed that the National Institutes of Health, a research body Dr Fauci is involved with, reversed an Obama-era ban on ‘gain-of-function research. On December 19, 2017, the NIH announced it would resume funding gain-of-function research involving MERS, SARS, coronaviruses and influenza after a new “framework” was developed. Gain-of-function is where researchers take a pathogen and modify it, often to make it more virulent or more transmissible.
