Tree Roots Lifted as Hurricane Ida Leaves Hundreds of Thousands Without Power in Louisiana

Several hundred thousand customers were without power in the New Orleans area on the evening of August 29, hours after Hurricane Ida made landfall in the state. Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, Louisiana, as a Category 4 storm, bringing maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, the National Hurricane Center reported.
