Government not following through with promises to small businesses ‘unforgiveable’

Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers says it is "unforgiveable" that so many small businesses are being "left in a lurch" amid the federal government failing to deliver on its promises. "It beggars belief that small businesses are still being left in a lurch," Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia. "They cant quite understand why the Prime Minister and the Treasurer, they pop up and they make these big announcements and then they don't follow through." He said it is the small businesses who "wear the costs" of the mistakes of the federal government. "It's unforgivable, as Chris Minns has said in New South Wales, that so many businesses are still being left in a lurch, weeks and weeks into this lockdown. "What we need to see is not just the announcement made by prime ministers and premiers, but the actual follow-through because the costs of getting that wrong are diabolical for too many people in Sydney and further afield."
