Events held across US to mark the anniversary of George Floyd’s death

Members of George Floyd’s family are meeting with President Joe Biden to drum up support for the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act which they view as his legacy on the one-year anniversary of his death. Events being held across the country include marches, singing and poetry recitations. People have also observed nine minutes and 29 seconds of silence to mark the length of time former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck, killing him.
