Australia’s gun laws are ‘among the strongest in the world’

Gun control advocate Rebecca Peters says the gun control laws implemented by Prime Minister John Howard after the Port Arthur massacre are “among the strongest gun laws in the world” but came at a high cost. “It was really clear that the gun laws needed changing in Australia because we had different laws in each state and in some states the laws were very loose indeed," she said.
