Soldier Field Columns Illuminate During COVID Memorial in Chicago

The city of Chicago turned off its lights on the evening of Tuesday, January 19, to observe a moment of silence for the lives lost to COVID-19. Footage shared by Soldier Field shows the landmark stadium also paying tribute. “We are #BrighterTogether,” a tweet from the official Soldier Field account read. “After a moment of silence tonight, our colonnades were illuminated amber to pay tribute to the 400,000 American lives lost to COVID-19.” As of the Tuesday, the Illinois Department of Health reported 18,291 deaths due to COVID-19.
