Friendly Echidna Gives Walker a Sniff in Canberra

A friendly echidna approached a walker in Canberra and gave them a sniff. In video posted by Helen Cross, an echidna approaches Cross in the Australian National Botanical Gardens in Canberra and examines her feet. Cross said this has happened to her a number of times before. “If you position yourself where you think they’re headed and as long as you keep relatively still and quiet they’ll come up to you at the Gardens,” Cross told Storyful. “We’re very lucky that a lot of the wildlife, like this Echidna, at the botanic gardens in Canberra have become accustomed to our presence,” Cross wrote in a Facebook post.
