The National Police of Honduras warned the Otuta bridge in Copán had collapsed due to flooding from Tropical Storm Iota on Wednesday, November 18. Footage released on social media showed floodwaters overwhelming a bridge in the country’s west. Earlier, the Honduran Government closed bridges and highways across the country as deluges brought on by Iota unleashed torrential floods. Police also warned all traffic in the area would be impacted by the bridge collapse.
