Police Deploy Tear Gas Against Protesters in Washington During Night of Unrest

Police used tear gas against protesters in Washington DC on October 27 during demonstrations over the death of a black man during a police chase. The man identified in local media as Karon Hylton reportedly crashed while riding a moped. Media reported he was being pursued by DC police for riding on the sidewalk without a helmet. Hylton collided with a passenger vehicle and later died in hospital after being administered first aid by police. Protesters near the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District building demanded the body-worn camera video be released, according to reports.
