Parts of far west New South Wales flooded after heavy rain swept the region on September 19. Footage taken on September 22 showed water gushing from a pipe into a dam at a livestock station north of Broken Hill. At least 32 millimetres of rain was recorded at Broken Hill Airport while nearby Menindee recorded 29 millimetres, the heaviest downpour after months of little to no rain.
