A major fire consumed an apartment building in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, July 30, after a blaze that reportedly began in a single unit spread to engulf the entire structure. Local media reported that the three-alarm fire in the Ashwood Apartments building destroyed the roof, and several people had to be evacuated as a result of the blaze. At least two people had been reportedly hospitalized due to the fire as of the Thursday evening.
