Hog Fire Burns 9,000 Acres as Blaze Continues for Fourth Day in California’s Lassen County

The Hog Fire burning in California’s northeast grew to 9,000 acres on July 21, prompting evacuations in areas near Susanville. The fire first started on July 18 according to CAL FIRE and had since threatened 170 structures. An essential fibre optic cable was damaged by the blaze, interrupting communications and connectivity in Susanville.
