The National Weather Service (NWS) said it received reports of wind damage in several central Alabama counties as severe storms swept through the state and much of the southeastern United States on Sunday morning, April 19. The NWS Birmingham issued flash flood threat for most of the Alabama and warned of a potential three to five inches of rain. On Sunday afternoon, local media reported apparent wind damage to trees, buildings, homes, and cars in central Alabama. Severe storms were forecasted to continue through Monday morning, the NWS said.
