Russia would ‘clearly much prefer’ Sanders to Trump

Journalist and Author of ‘The Frozen Republic’ Daniel Lazare says Russia would “clearly much prefer a Bernie Sanders to a Donald Trump” as the US president. “Donald Trump has been quite tough on Russia, whereas Sanders would clearly push for a new, more equitable relationship with Moscow,” Mr Lazare told Sky News. “I think that’s what Moscow wants," he said. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump dismissed reports that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to help him win a second term. “Another misinformation campaign is being launched by Democrats in Congress saying that Russia prefers me to any of the Do Nothing Democrat candidates who still have been unable to, after two weeks, count their votes in Iowa,” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter.
