Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani has accused former US Security Advisor John Bolton of being a "backstabber" during the President's impeachment trial. The President's defence team is reeling after a book authored by Mr Bolton claimed President Trump wanted to withhold military aid from Ukraine until it committed to investigating Democratic rivals. A letter from the National Security Council to Mr Bolton's lawyer, Charles Cooper, said some of the material in the manuscript was believed to be top secret and needed to be deleted before being made available to the public. Mr Guiliani said he found Mr Bolton's "testimony about the president pretty close to incredible". Democrats see Mr Bolton as a key figure who could help them with their case against the president and they want to call Mr Bolton and several other officials to testify in the Senate trial.
